In 1955 it entered into a partnership with Fiat and Pirelli to create AUTOBIANCHI, a company that focused on producing out-of-series cars.
One of them was the Autobianchi Bianchina Cabriolet. A charming and elegant convertible based on the Fiat 500, the Cinquecento, which celebrities like Brigitte Bardot and Prince Rainier III of Monaco quickly grew fond of.
The car was very well finished, robust, with good sound insulation, and, thanks to the Fiat 500 Sport’s 21 hp engine, it could reach 105 km/h.
Its charming look took it to the silver screen. It was Audrey Hepburn’s car on How to Steal a Million Dollars and clumsy Lucy’s in Despicable Me 2. In 10 years, 9,350 Cabriolets were produced.
Our Bianchina 500 Cabriolet is part of the 3rd series, produced in 1967, the penultimate year of production. Because it spent a large amount of its life on display at Fiat Favron & Bergamin dealership showcase in Busto Arsizio, Province of Varese, it has only 25,500 km.
